On Friday 26th June 2020 the NDIA announced new NDIS rate changes effective 1 July 2020. This means that your NDIS house cleaning costs will align with current Fair Work legislation, along with yard clean up hourly rates.
The updated NDIS Price Guide 2020-21 and Support Catalogue has been updated to reflect indexed price limits as a result of the Fair Work Commission Annual Wage Review 2019-20.
The catalogue rates for NDIS house cleaning costs and yard clean up fees that apply to Your Helpers Home Services change effective 1 July 2020 are as follows:
- Assistance with Daily Life – House cleaning and other household activities: $50.20 per hour
- Assistance with Daily Life – House and/or yard maintenance: $49.30 per hour
During the height of Covid-19, the NDIA allowed for temporary changes to services to allow providers to continue to provide support. The main NDIS COVID changes Your Helpers Home Services implemented was adding a 10% loading on some services. As of 1 July 2020, this loading will be removed as advised by the NDIA.

I am with a ndis house cleaning provider. Can someone tell me if $240 per basic clean for 1-1.5 hour and an extra $30-35 charged for travel is normal?
Hi Marly, based on the information you have the hourly rate for NDIS home cleaning is $50.20/hr. The maximum that can be charged for travel is 30 minutes of the hourly clean rate which is $25.10. Therefore if you agreed to a 1.5 hour clean, the charge should be $100.40 including travel. Do you have a service agreement in place? It should state the rates on their that your provider is charging. Hope this helps.
Hi thankyou for reply. I asked my ndis coordinator and she said the cleaning company would ring and expain. When I was called, I was only told that the fee includes company overhead costs. The fees are about $240 + extra $25-37 for fuel for 1-1.5hrs but times are not specified on invoice…only date, clean, price and fuel price. There is 2 cleaners for a average 4 bedroom home. I only realized when I was sent the monthly invoice. I thought the amounts to be quite mind blowing and also wonder why my coordinator did not think the same. Id hate to think that company is taking advantage of vunerable ndis clients. Averaging the invoice it is almost $8000 per year. Thankyou for replying. Regards.
Please can I get the right NDIS price code for the following:- Assistance with Daily Life – House cleaning and other household activities: $50.20 per hour.
Hi David, that is the correct catalogue price for that service as of today.
